This plugin is incredibly useful. While WP lets you post “posts,” Postie goes further and posts “pages” too, which is a lifesaver when you have 1,000+ pages to post.
There are numerous other features in the free version already, and in the very reasonable paid addon, you can set things like the slug and custom fields, which is just the icing on the cake.
In addition, the author offers prompt support and has already made several minor improvements in response to my help requests over the last couple weeks.

Postie made it possible for us to replace our “mailman” mailing list with a WordPress based forum.
We have a mix of people that are comfortable with web forum postings and another group that miss their mailing lists.
This group of people receive email summaries of each wordpress post or comment and they can send new posts or reply to current posts as comments using Postie.
Very good and useful plugin.

Very impressed with this plugin! You can do some pretty complex processing of incoming emails if you have a bit of PHP coding knowledge. Out of the box, you can setup some very useful rules that will allow your site to get fresh content easily.

The instructions are excellent, whilst WordPress may be happy with a ***** rating approach, for those of us who prefer not to code, I would nominate this as an exemplar of how plugins should be delivered…well done.
